The Source of our Kratom

Front Range Kratom began working exclusively with a farmer in Indonesia in 2019. Our trusted farmer owns five Kratom gardens nationwide and is there every step of the process. He and his team plant the Kratom seeds themselves, and harvest and test the leaves before drying and grinding them into a fine powder, which is then shipped directly to us. We then test the Kratom again using a third-party source. In addition, over the past couple of years, we have expanded to working with Colorado-local companies who have also connected with farmers in Southeast Asia to bring in an even larger variety of Kratom. Today, we house over 100 strains of Kratom.

The process of our Kratom

Our farmer and his team begin the testing process before harvest. The trees are then monitored and assigned harvest intervals depending on the type of Kratom that is desired–greens, reds, whites, and supers. All Kratom is natural and not enhanced with extracts. The harvest data is logged for each tree and the leaves are sent to an on-site drying facility. The leaves are not exposed to sunlight during this process. Once dried, the leaves are then moved to the grinding mills where they are transformed into a fine nano powder and vacuum sealed in plastic packaging. The Kratom packages are then stored under ultraviolet light and subjected to gamma rays for sterilzation before shipment.

Fun facts about our Kratom Strains

Green, red, and white Kratom are the only naturally grown strains of Kratom. Other popular types such as gold and yellow Kratom are mixes of different strain types. Chocolate Kratom is a red type that is put through a fermentation process. The strains are named after regions in Southeast Asia–Bali, Borneo, Thai–or by the shape of the leaf–Elephant, Devil, Horn. The popular Maeng Da strain is named after a giant Thai water bug, a common snack in the region, but also means “pimp grade” which is a term largely attributed to this famous strain in Kratom communities. Currently, our farmer produces 30-50 tons of these Kratom strains per month.

Frequently Asked Questions

Kratom, or Mitragyna speciosa, is a tropical evergreen tree, related to the coffee plant, that is native to Southeast Asia–Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Papua New Guinea, and Thailand. Kratom has been used in this region for centuries as an herbal supplement for its uplifting, calming, and pain-relieving properties.

Mitragynine, the alkaloid most abundant in the Kratom leaves, interacts with your body’s natural opioid receptors which can relate to feelings of pleasure and pain relief. It’s important to note that Kratom is not an opioid and can have various effects on different bodies. Historically, natives brewed Kratom into teas or chewed the leaves. Nowadays, Kratom commonly goes through an extraction process to create concentrate, or the leaves are micronized into a fine powder.

There are three main types of Kratom: Green, Red, and White. This comes from the color of the veins in the Kratom leaves at the time of harvest. Other types of Kratom–such as gold, yellow, or chocolate–refer to micronized blends or Kratom that has gone through additional processes such as fermentation. You will also find more specific strains, such as the popular Maeng Da. These strains are typically named after regions in Southeast Asia or by the shape of the leaf.
